Each MAG540 runs on Linux and is built around the Amlogic S905Y4 chipset with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 processor — hardware that's more than capable of handling demanding 4K HDR playback while keeping bitrates modest. Thanks to this combination of stable software and solid hardware, the units are designed to run for extended stretches without needing a restart.
